The second volume of the hit new series exploring the early history of 2000 AD’s all-powerful “Judges.”

United States of America, 2041 A.D.

Eustace Fargo’s new justice system has been in effect for eight years. The old days of waiting times and backlogs are over: judgement is quick, and sentencing is instantaneous. The old police academies have all shut down, and the new order is triumphant.

But are things any better? Unrest is worse than ever. Criminals are more likely to kill rather than be caught.

There’s a war coming for the streets…

Irish Author Michael Carroll is a former chairperson of the Irish Science Fiction Association and has previously worked as a postman and a computer programmer/systems analyst. A reader of 2000 AD right from the very beginning, Michael is the creator of the acclaimed Quantum Prophecy/Super Human series of superhero novels for the Young Adult market. When Joseph was 11 years old he read an X-Men comic and immediately knew that he wanted to tell stories for the rest of his life. When he was 16, he burnt every story he'd ever written and every piece of art he'd ever drawn in huge bonfire because an alcoholic art teacher and a bankrupt comic shop owner had repeatedly told him he was no good and he'd never be successful. When he was 21 he met a writer whose work reignited his creativity and set him back on the path: Warren Ellis. He's been writing ever since. His influences include Chinua Achebe, Yoko Kanno, Christopher Hitchens, Iain M. Banks, Steven Spielberg, Stephen King, Mary Renault, Hideo Kojima and Robert B. Parker. Maura McHugh was born in the USA, but raised in Ireland, where she developed a love of mythology, horror fiction, art, and writing. She has lived in New York, Dublin, and Galway, and worked in IT before succumbing to her love of storytelling. She's the writer of the comic book series Jennifer Wilde and Roisin Dubh, and co-writer of Witchfinder: The Mysteries of Unland. She's the author of the fairy tale collection, Twisted Fairy Tales, and the collection of world myths, Twisted Myths. She's also a published poet, a produced playwright, and a screenwriter. She loves exploring the woods: the darker, the wilder, the better.

Reviews for Judges Vol 2: The Genesis of the World of Judge Dredd

Each story is quickly devoured, packed with twists and brutal political analogy. This is the rise of fascism, eerily familiar and terrifyingly plausible... this is the Justice Department as The Wire, and it really works. -- Starburst Magazine * Starburst Magazine * I enjoyed this book, although it made me nervous. I loved the conflict it caused in me. It's fast-paced and uncompromising, keeping true to the essence of the Judges. -- The British Fantasy Society * The British Fantasy Society * Challenging at times, yet extremely rewarding in the end. -- Pop Culture Bandit * Pop Culture Bandit *
