Syed Jamaluddin Asadabadi Afghani was one of the most influential Muslim leaders of the nineteenth century. Allama Iqbal mentioned Afghani many times in his writings and statements and appreciated his varied and revolutionary services. Afghani revived the re-examination of Islam as a system of thought without breaking ties with the past.
