Catherine Stiller began her search on the effect of complementary and integrative therapies when she first served as Director of Complementary Care for Saint Vincent Health System in Erie, Pennsylvania in the late nineties. She is a registered nurse, a therapeutic touch practitioner, and has researched the effect of therapeutic touch on fibromyalgia pain and anxiety, earning her Ph.D. in nursing at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio in 2006. Catherine currently serves on the American Holistic Nurses Association Research Committee. She has taught nursing both in person and online for the last 35 years and is a certified nurse educator.
