'This is a wonderful book of pop music history. A man obsessed with the beauty of creative artists and wanting to create his own legacy and to enable other musicians to have a voice by releasing their magic. We need more people like him in a world full of mass-produced mediocrity.' -- Elton John 'A beautiful, insightful and honest look into the life of legend and musical polymath Simon Raymonde.' -- Cillian Murphy 'Simon and his father Ivor have soundtracked many chapters of my life. Their musical journey makes for a fascinating read that's a very British take on the story of rock 'n' roll.' -- Don Letts 'Simon Raymonde likes to credit serendipity for the storied life that music has given him - seemingly unaware that his genial joie de vivre might have influenced the outcome of his successes. Therein lies perhaps the greatest of this book's myriad charms.' -- Pete Paphides 'I was engrossed in In One Ear from the start and just gorged on it from then on, hungry to learn what happened next. The depth and honesty when describing everything from Simon's youth, to being a vital part of one of the most influential bands ever, to setting up and running probably the most important independent label of this era, is addictive. Oh yeah, and the lad can write, books as well as heartachingly beautiful songs.' -- Pat Nevin 'Simon's book is nothing short of a gift for us lifelong Cocteau Twins fans. Beautifully executed and absolutely riveting. I felt transported. Indeed an honour and a thrill to witness in such perfect detail the band's unfolding, as well as Simon's personal journey from record store clerk to legendary musician.' -- Jason Lee, actor and skateboarder 'Simon Raymonde has helped write some of the most celestial and influential music ever created and that is just one part of his remarkable story. He recounts it here with great command, insight and wit. So moving, so honest and disarmingly charming. I was riveted and I remain devoted.' -- Shirley Manson of Garbage 'Simon Raymonde spent fifteen years making beautiful music with the Cocteau Twins, he has subsequently spent almost thirty years bringing us beautiful music via Bella Union. He brings us that beauty again in the pages of In One Ear. As highly recommended as Treasure, It'll End in Tears or Heaven or Las Vegas.' -- Merck Mercuriadis
