Reviews for Illustrated Tales of Dwarfs, Gnomes and Fairy Folk

'A wonderful gift for a child or for an adult who loves to hear stories of the little folk, in their various forms, and their relationships with human beings... Colours are both bright and subtle so that the pictures really do glow and there is more to be seen every time you revisit them... In a world of superficial cartoon characters and doubtful moral choices, these stories and the beautiful illustrations which accompany them are therapeutic, refreshing and nourishing. I can heartily recommend them to all those looking for new stories to share.' -- Kindling Macomb Daily's 'Kids Reads to Pore Over' 'The illustrations help children of all ages to imagine the story as you're reading. Perfect for reading-aloud together or to read one story at a time before bedtime. Fantasy and folklore enthusiasts will probably want to read it cover to cover, but its table of contents allows for the reader to decide what order they read the stories and how many.' -- Macomb Daily 'I am so impressed with this beautiful book of fairy tales! Each story is so enchanting. Most of these are stories that I have never heard of before. The art style is so beautiful! The subtle colours and the delicate lines are absolutely lovely and magical! I love how little details in the background will catch your attention, and add meaning to the story. It's so delightful to see these stories come alive in the art work! This is truly a special book, and it has a pretty blue ribbon attached for a bookmark. The pages are glossy and smooth. I love the elegant endpapers, and the whole design of the book!' -- Luminous Libro Blog, 5 stars
