As a child, I inherited responsibilities at a very early age while building faith in GOD. Mental turmoil grew from denial that masked my deep-rooted emotions. Survival strategies developed as I witnessed my grandmother go to the altar and pray over her burdens. Did GOD love me enough to stop these emotions?

In time, I realized a strong black woman seeks out tools to restore healing from the past; not remain silent through suffering. Through untold and unprocessed trauma, GOD revealed a path to help others process what they ran from. My mental health journey sparked triggering situations I later understood as agony. GOD's wisdom and timing allowed me to find wellness and ultimately mental freedom; enabling me to grow as a woman, mother, and role model.

Prepare your heart and mind for a new way of living. Moving past trauma is active; remember, process, release, and follow through. Each step is important for how to show up for your future and build a legacy. Remember, your story is unique and you hold the key to unlock the mysteries buried deep inside to heal.

This is a self-help journal infused with Biblical scripture and references for support. Growing up with a Christian foundation, my relationship with God was built on reading the Bible to my uncle. I offered my younger self a voice to express pain, trauma, and negligence from my past. I offer the same opportunities for 'Thank You Village' to process their trauma and awaken a new future. Age does not defy your story or reconnection to the past, be courageous and graceful as you make this commitment. God bless and welcome to The Village!
