Spiro Zavos is recognised as one of the world's most influential rugby writers. A rugby columnist at The Sydney Morning Herald for nearly 25 years and a contributor to the influential sports website The Roar, he has written seven acclaimed books on the sport, including the bestseller How to Watch a Game of Rugby. A first-generation Greek New Zealander, Zavos saw his first rugby test at Wellington's Athletic Park when he was 12 years old, and was struck with a lifelong passion for 'the perfect game- He lives in Sydney with his wife Judy Zavos, a teacher and children's book author. The couple has two sons, Zolton and Zachary.
