Christine Redwood received a PhD degree at the Australian College of Theology in 2021. Her academic interests center on evangelical homiletics, feminist hermeneutics, and the Old Testament. She has contributed to several journals and books including Preaching with an Accent: Biblical Genres for Australian Congregations (2019). Christine is currently the senior pastor at Seaforth Baptist, Sydney.
""Christine Redwood engages both academic biblical scholarship and the practicalities of preaching and application without dumbing down the theoretical or trivializing the practical. I may not always be comfortable with her hermeneutics or where she takes the text, but that, perhaps, is the point. To allow the Bible to unsettle us and confront us afresh with God's call and the world's need is at the heart of the preacher's task. In that, Redwood serves us well."" --Andrew Sloane, lecturer in Old Testament and Christian thought, Morling College ""The gap between evangelicals and those who read the Bible with suspicion is a difficult space to dwell in. The gap between the pulpit and the academy is often considered unnavigable. Christine Redwood has done the church a great service by dwelling in the first, in order to navigate the second. Preachers and pastors will benefit from studying her work and emulating her methods."" --Helen Paynter, director of theological education, Bristol Baptist College
