"Being a human is a complex phenomenon which humankind have not under- stood in its entirety and there are many aspects of being a human which has shaped our collective behaviors and created histories around the globe. Our collective actions or inactions as groups (tribes, sects, nations etc.) not only has an impact on our personal lives, lives of our loved ones but also has far-reaching implications on the history of mankind.
Similarly, over the past couple of centuries the collective actions and inactions of group of individuals in South Asia has shaped that region into a potential battle- ground for a nuclear war, primarily due to differences in the core ideologies of India and Pakistan as nations and predominant religions practiced in both counties (which at its core are contradictory to each other). Short of a full fledge war the region is in a constant phase of intra and inter-state socio-economic tensions and in my view the group of individuals who face the most brunt of these tensions are the religious minorities of those countries.
Categorized as religious minority from Pakistan, I through Guyton to Garrison - Journey of a ""Traitor/Mercenary/غدار"" have tried to share my view of the South Asian region, it's association with War on Terrorism, my view on the region of Kashmir and my personal struggle growing up in Pakistan which has shaped me into who I am today. This book is an attempt to address the root causes of the socio-economic and geo-political issues of the South Asian region through un-apologetically sharing my assessment and views with a hope that the root causes of the perpetual state of animosity between India and Pakistan are fairly under- stood, analyzed and addressed before sincere efforts are taken by anyone interested in the well fare of the people of the South Asian region.
Guyton refers to the primary text book I studied for physiology in Med School and Garrison refers to joining US Military since most of my time being in the military was spent training, moving to different states within US (sometimes over- seas) or dealing with day to day affairs at work within the United States. For titles: ""Traitor/Mercenary/غدار"", unfortunately I am given these titles for the path I took but completely disagree with the connotations attached with them. - Mercenary/Traitor/غدار"
