God Speaks Science by David Johnson explores the molecular level of life through the lens of biochemistry and reveals the harmonious connections between science and faith. Our bodies are an amazing organization of molecules, water, blood cells, enzymes, proteins, and DNA, all held together by weak hydrogen bonds. While all these aspects of life are being revealed by science, leading to medical miracles, the concept of the original creation remains a mystery. This book encourages readers to learn how the four-letter alphabet of life (DNA) and the twenty-word vocabulary (amino acids) were used to speak all life into existence. The contents are enriched with real-life applications, stories of historical figures, interesting facts, and links to videos showing the beautiful configurations of the body's molecular elements, all demonstrating the beauty of God's creation.

Reviews for God Speaks Science

"""Science and Christianity have tussled through the ages all the way from Galileo and Darwin right to the present day. With God Speaks Science, David Johnson presents a clearly thought-out appreciation of modern molecular biology as a celebration of the creator's plan for life. His lucid explanations and comprehensive scope provide a wonderful perspective for newcomers to molecular biology as well as those already in the field and effectively explores the quandaries at the interface of science and Christianity."" --Jonathan M. Harris, professor of protein biochemistry, Queensland University of Technology ""One of the most moving and compelling verses of Scripture is 'the heavens continuously proclaim the glory of God, and the firmament perpetually recounts the work of his hands' (Ps 19:1). This marvelous volume from a distinguished hard-scientist, devout person of faith, and a cherished friend brings together the marvels of science and the truth of Scripture. The result is a wonderful volume that contributes much to the discussion of faith and science. I highly recommend it."" --Christopher Rollston, chair of classical and Near Eastern languages and civilizations, George Washington University ""In God Speaks Science, David Johnson provides the reader with a clear and encouraging discussion of how science is also God's expression--one of the ways he speaks and demonstrates to us the grandeur and diversity of his creation. Illustrations, examples, and video links throughout the book offer further depth and detail that connect us to God through the language of science."" --Michael Braswell, author of The Memory of Grace ""I have witnessed and wept over the supposed battle of science and faith and the destruction it reaps upon the souls of mankind. David Johnson has written a wonderful and much-needed book showing that the two not only coexist but that one points to the truths of the other. This book is needed for today and can serve as a valued window into the complementary role that science and faith play in aiding a person to find true meaning in life."" --David Clark, retired minister, Boones Creek Christian Church"
