Honey Goel, an alumnus of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Research, Punjabi University, Patiala, and the University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh, has been serving as Head & Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences Faridkot in Punjab. He has teaching and research experience of 10 years in the institute. The thrust areas of his research include targeted drug delivery, colon cancer biology, and chemoprevention, using natural polymers for formulating mouth-dissolving tablets and colon drug delivery systems. He has published more than 50 international peer-reviewed publications and has been guiding many master's and Ph.D. students. Vinni Kalra is working as a research scholar under the DBT-BIC project in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Research, Punjabi University, Patiala. She has completed her M. Pharm. in Pharmaceutics. She has published research papers in international journals of repute. The thrust area of her research work includes topical drug delivery, brain-targeted drug delivery, and nano-particulate formulation development. Ashok K Tiwary, an alumnus of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, BIT, Mesra, Ranchi (obtained his master's and Ph.D.), has been serving at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Research of Punjabi University since 1995. He also served as Head of the department and served in various eminent positions at Punjabi University such as Dean (Faculty of Medicine), Member Syndicate, and member of the Senate. He also served as Controller of Examinations, and Dean (Research). He is presently Dean (Academic Affairs) at Punjabi University, Patiala.The thrust areas of his research include investigating the mechanisms of percutaneous permeation enhancers and using natural polymers for formulating mouth-dissolving tablets and colon drug delivery systems. He is also working on contraception with an aim of exploring the possibility of using approved drugs as contact spermicides. He has published 130 research papers, guided many M.Pharm. students and 15 Ph.D. students, and handled many major research projects. He has also published eight books and contributed chapters to the Encyclopedia of Pharmaceutical Technology and Preclinical Development Handbook. He is a reviewer for many journals including AAPS Pharm. Sci Tech, Drug Delivery and Formulation, Drug Delivery and Industrial Pharmacy, International Journal of Pharmaceutics, etc. His laboratory is funded by CSIR, New Delhi, ICMR, New Delhi, DST, New Delhi, and UGC, New Delhi, India through various research and consultancy grants.
