Cynthia Shafer-Elliott recently received her Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from the University of Sheffield. She is currently teaching at William Jessup University in Rocklin, California. Her research utilizes interdisciplinary approaches to better understand the daily lives of ancient Israelites and Judahites. Aspects of her research are published in contributions to A Land Like Your Own: Traditions of Israel and Their Reception (2010). She has also held supervisory roles on a number of archaeological excavations in Israel, most recently at Tel es-Safi (biblical Gath).
