Annemarie Nikolaus was born in Hesse, Germany, and lived in northern Italy for twenty years. In 2010 she moved to Auvergne, France, with her daughter. She studied psychology, journalism, politics and history and worked, among other things, as a psychotherapist, an adult-learning teacher, a journalist, a lecturer and a translator. She began to write literature in early 2001. Her first novel was published in 2005, a joint work with two other authors called 'Das Feuerpferd'. Meanwhile, she publishes independently.
