""These books (Ethical Reasoning for a Data-Centered World and Ethical Practice of Statistics and Data Science) offer a comprehensive framework for ensuring that our work in data science is conducted with the highest ethical standards. For public health professionals, this guidance is indispensable. In today's world, the scepticism around data has evolved into a broader concern. These companion volumes are notable for being the first and only books to provide guidance based on the ethical guidelines or code of ethics from the American Statistical Association (ASA) and the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM). The books are not merely academic texts but essential guides that bridge the gap between ethical theory and practical application. They create a roadmap for training and integrating ethical reasoning in classroom settings. As public health professionals, we are often at the forefront of policy implementation and science communication, making the insights from these books particularly relevant. Rochelle Tractenberg's comprehensive exploration of ethical practices in data science is a timely and invaluable resource for the public health community. Her books are essential companions for anyone committed to the responsible use of data in public health.'- Elena N. Naumova, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Public Health Policy.
