Emeka Ogboh (*1977 in Enugu, Nigeria) lives and works in Berlin and Lagos. Sound is his preferred means of expression and the basis for his examination of other media, in order to explore the multilayered character and contexts of our existence. Solo exhibitions include et al. Gropius Bau, Berlin (2021), the Cleveland Art Museum, Cleveland, U.S. (2019), the Power Plant, Toronto (2018), Tate Modern, London (2017), the Staatliche Kunsthalle, Baden-Baden (2017), and Ludlow 38, New York (2016). The artist has participated in many group exhibitions, including the documenta 14, Athens and Kassel (2017) and Skulptur Projekte Münster (2017). Ogboh has also received various awards, such as the DAAD Fellowship (German Academic Exchange Service) in 2014 and the Böttcherstraße Prize Bremen in 2016.
