Dr. Yiqing Yuan is a chief expert at the National New Energy Vehicle Technology Innovation Center (NEVC) of China. He has worked in the areas of electric vehicles, chassis, hybrid and electric powertrains, and their control. Holding a PhD from the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, he was a product engineer and then a lead engineer at the Advanced Vehicle Engineering (AVE) division of Chrysler developing powertrain products. After that, he served as the deputy director and professor at the Electric Vehicle R&D Center of the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of Chinese Academy of Science (CAS); he was concurrently the deputy general manager of the Electric Vehicle R&D Center of CAS. Before he joined NEVC, he was a distinguished professor at the Clean Energy Engineering Center of Tongji University. From the year 2020 to 2023, he was honored as a distinguished professor at Jiangsu University, and a chair professor at the Fujian Institute of Engineering.
