Abigail Wheatley joined Usborne Publishing in 2002 after completing a doctorate on medieval castles. She's still writing books about castles, but has branched out into areas such as science, art and cookery. She lives in a little book-filled house in Kent, with views of a real castle from her bedroom window. Lo grew up surrounded by puppets, props and craft paraphernalia because his writer-dad and illustrator-mum created children's TV for the BBC. At university Lo was thrown off his illustration course, but when he started working, his illustration was constantly in demand, appearing regularly in The Guardian and the Economist. Gloucestershire-based Lo's lifelong love of children's books have now led to his unforgettable animal characters being published around the world.
