Jerry Trites is a CPA with a history of writing and publishing. He was a partner in KPMG for twenty years, and a professor of accounting and information systems at St Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, where he served as director of the Schwartz School of Business. He also served for twelve years as director of XBRL Canada. He has published twelve books and numerous articles and papers. As a research associate for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, he led the development of several sections of the CICA Handbook, the source of Canadian accounting and auditing standards and he served as chair of the Auditing Standards Board. He also served the CICA as assistant director of education, where he had responsibility for administering and managing the Uniform Final Examinations for Chartered Accountants. He currently serves as editor in chief of ThinkTWENTY20 Magazine, a publication he started in 2019 with the objective of publishing well researched articles of substance.
