"Lee Halverson grew up as a farm boy in Iowa. Upon graduation from college, he was drafted into the army and sent to Viet Nam. He married his sweetheart, Ginny, two weeks before departing. They shared their faith in God not only in their marriage but in their everyday activities. Lee built friendships and initiated activities like rebuilding orphanages. Ginny wrote to soldiers who had received ""Dear John"" letters and sent them brownies and comforting letters. When Lee came home, he decided to become a teacher so he could work with young people. He and Ginny raised two daughters: Missy and Ginger."
