Having grown up in North Yorkshire, Tug Wilson's dream came true in 1985 when he joined the RAF as a fast-jet pilot. He was selected to fly the mighty Phantom for his first tour, and after three years of raging around the front line over Germany, he became a tactics and flying instructor on the Hawk T1A. Following this, he was extremely lucky to secure an exchange tour with the US Marine Corps, flying the legendary F18 Hornet in California. His final flying tour was on the Tornado F3 before a heart condition curtailed his flying career. He now tells flying stories for a living.
