Dr. Schaefer's principle research interests are in the application of advanced diagnostic imaging techniques (MRI, CT, Ultrasound) in small animal orthopedics. She developed an MRI atlas of the canine shoulder joint and has published on both normal and abnormal findings in the canine shoulder as seen with MRI Dr. Johnston graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1986. After completing an internship at the University of Georgia and a small animal surgical residency at Michigan State University, he joined the faculty at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech in 1990. Dr. DeCamp, a native of Flint, is a former professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Michigan State University and has joined Animal Surgical Center of Michigan. Early in Dr. DeCamp's post-secondary education, he studied English literature and received his first degree therein. During this time of study, he also completed pre-veterinary courses and subsequently earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree at Michigan State University.
