Dr. T V V L N Rao has been Research Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology since December 2017. He received a PhD in Tribology of fluid film bearings from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 2000, and M. Tech in Mechanical Manufacturing Technology from the National Institute of Technology Calicut in 1994. Prior to joining SRM, he served as faculty member at LNMIIT, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, and BITS Pilani at Pilani and Dubai campuses. Dr. Rao is a member of the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers, Malaysian Tribology Society and Tribology Society of India. Dr. Rao has 20 years of teaching and research experience in Mechanical, Design and Manufacturing Engineering, with special research emphasis in bearings, lubrication and tribology. Dr. Rao has executed (co-executed) several internationally funded research grants. He has authored (co-authored) over 120 publications. Prof. Dr. Salmiah Kasolang is currently the Rector of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Pulau Pinang Branch. Her research interest is in Tribology specifically in hydrodynamic lubrication. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1992 and later pursued her Masters degree in Manufacturing System Engineering at Universiti Putra Malaysia UPM. She did her PhD in the University of Sheffield under the supervision of Prof. Rob Dwyer-Joyce. She has an administrative experience for 9 years as the Deputy Dean (7 years from 2009 to 2015) and Dean (5 years from 2015 to 2020). She is actively leading a Tribology research group in UiTM with more than 100 indexed publications. Her engagement with MYTRIBOS has enabled her linked up with other tribologists in Malaysia. Currently, she is the President of Malaysian Tribology Society (MYTRIBOS). She is also the President of Society of Mechanical Engineering Liveliness SOMEL, which promotes many aspects of engineering including but not limited to education, research, industry-community engagement, engineering art, and engineering life style. Dr Guoxin Xie received his doctoral degree at Tsinghua University, China, in 2010, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. After that, he spent two years at State Key Laboratory of Tribology, Tsinghua University, China for postdoctoral research.
