A brilliant and thoroughly engaging literary masterpiece! I hung onto every word as it pulled me into the places, the characters, and the feelings that each experienced. I couldn't put it down for very long because as soon as I did... the pages beckoned me right back. Rushing to complete it but hoping it would last... a must-read! She has found a unique, beautiful, and sensitive way, to bring to the fore, the gender issues, obstacles, and pressures affecting our youth, here at home and in other parts of the world. I hope Ms. Rogers will consider having her novel translated into Spanish. Thus giving the Latin community the opportunity to relate, appreciate, and enjoy her book as well. Brilliant work! E.O. A page-turner that interweaves the complex coming-of-age story of a young man, Tsewang, with that of a young woman, A'isha, one growing up in the Moroccan mountains and the other in Bhutan. Their parallel stories unfold in crisp prose paired with exquisite attention to detail that captures both the cultural specificity of the two settings along with the ultimate universality of our common experiences.
