ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jeanie Halstead lives in Arizona with her husband Tom, kitty Shiloh, doggie Tara, and two parrots, Jingo and Moagley. She's a mother and grandmother and has been a Bahaaacute;'iiacute; for 50 years. While not considering herself a writer, she still felt the need to testify to her Faith and share her story with her family and friends. She has served on various Baha'i committees, on the Local Spiritual Assembly of Oshkosh Wisconsin for 16 years, and others in many moves. She has a varied background in modeling, sales, gardening, raising chickens for eggs, and as owner-operator of Wellness Health Food Center in Fishers Indiana. An interesting side note, while running her health food store she became a student helicopter pilot when her husband Tom opened a chopper school. She studied nutrition, herbology, and massage at the Natural Healing Institute of Encinitas California. After being of service to others practicing massage, she is now a retired grandmom and the one in need of massage! Jeanie's avocation and passions, and key elements in her Baha'i story, are the rights of women and equality/opportunities for minorities and the disadvantaged. Every person's path and story in finding their Beloved is different, and Baha'is often are attracted to different aspects of the 12 Principles. Social development, justice, the unity of all peoples, an end to war, discrimination and inequality, and the amazing new administrative order (the first global democratic spiritual system in history), are prominent among the cherished gems that attracted Jeanie.
