Janice Colven lives with her husband, Hoyt, on a ranch on the Canadian prairies. She has dedicated her life to sharing her infertility experience and finding a purposeful life beyond motherhood.
AMAZING! Janice Colven's writing flows with such ease and is so relatable. I wish so much I had been able to read this while I was at the beginning of my struggle. This book is an emotional guide for those going through infertility or those that are willing to take the time to understand those that are. I learned - that I am not alone! That there is so much purpose beyond children. That two is a family! (Jillian Smith) This book is written from the heart of someone who has traveled a long emotional journey through infertility. This book is perfect for anyone on this journey who is looking for answers to questions or assurance that what they are going through someone else has experienced. Although their journey may not be exactly the same, they may be able to draw on some of the experiences and know they are not alone in what they are feeling. I was surprised by the emotional impact this book had on me. I found myself holding my breath (even though I didn't realize it) and often tearing up at the various steps along the journey. The book drew me and held my attention to the end. I would have NO concerns recommending this book to anyone who is following the path of infertility and is searching for answers along the way. (JoAnne Sigurdson) 10/10 recommend! I couldn't seem to put this book down! I loved how the author included deep and dark moments but also threw things in that made me laugh! The author wrote that she experienced a rollercoaster of emotions throughout her journey, but as a reader, I did too! I laughed, cried, and got goosebumps! Baby Rollercoaster is the PERFECT title - this book will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions as you connect with a woman who has experienced infertility and the emotions of sorrow and hope it brought her. This book would be perfect for women that are experiencing infertility or people who are close to those who have or are experiencing infertility (such as a sister or daughter). I was surprised by the amount of money and pain (both emotionally and physically) IVF is. I learned straight-up facts about infertility which I think is important for readers to know. (Ellen Krogan)
