Prof. Moncef L. Nehdi, PhD, PEng, FEIC, FACI, FCSCE is the Chair of McMaster’s Department of Civil Engineering. An award-winning scholar, educator, and industry manager, he is a global leader in cement and concrete research, recycling by-products in construction, and artificial intelligence applications in materials and structures. A prolific author with more than 450 research publications, he was listed in the world’s most cited civil engineers by Elsevier and the Shanghai Ranking, and in Stanford University’s World’s top 1% scientists. His research was used in several landmark construction projects around the globe, beneficiated colossal mining and industrial by-products, and reduced the carbon footprint of various sectors of the economy. He served as Technical Manager for three different companies and is Canada’s lead professional development instructor for engineers on the durability and repair of concrete structures, design of formwork and temporary structures, and advanced concrete technology. Dr. Harish Chandra Arora is a Principal Scientist at the Department of Structural Engineering, CSIR-Central Building Research Institute, Rorkee, India. He has over 25 years of experience in research and development in the areas of concrete technology, distress diagnosis and repair, and rehabilitation of structures. His research works have been credited in national as well as international journals. He has guided more than 100 students for Bachelor and Master of Technology programs. Dr. Krishna Kumar is presently working as a Research and Development Engineer at UJVN Ltd., Uttarakhand, India. He has more than 13 years of experience in operation and maintenance, as well as designing of hydropower plants. He has published numerous research papers in international journals and conferences including IEEE, Elsevier, and Springer. He has also edited and written books for Taylor & Francis and Wiley and has authored over 300 scientific articles, with his current research areas including IoT, AI, and Renewable Energy. Robertas Damaševicius is a Professor at Software Engineering Department, Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania. His research interests include human-computer interaction, e-learning, assisted living, serious games and gamification. He is the author or co-author of over 400 papers as well as a monograph published by Springer. He is also a member of IEEE and ACM Aman Kumar is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree in Engineering Sciences (Structural Engineering) at the CSIR-Central Building Research Institute, Roorkee, India. His research interests include sustainability development, non-destructive testing, concrete technology, strengthening techniques (FRP and FRCM), corrosion protection techniques for structural design, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things. He has carried out a great deal of research and technical survey work in the above-mentioned areas. He has written book chapters and research papers which have been published in international books and journals.
