In this study, we conduct a comprehensive analysis to evaluate the performance of Indian banks operating overseas, with a specific focus on select public and private sector banks. The aim is to gain insights into how these banks have performed in international markets and to identify any notable differences between the two sectors.
To conduct the evaluation, we employ various key performance indicators (KPIs) that encompass financial, operational, and strategic aspects. These indicators include profitability ratios, asset quality measures, capital adequacy ratios, operational efficiency metrics, and market presence indicators.
By examining the financial performance of Indian banks abroad, we can assess their ability to generate profits, manage risks, and allocate capital effectively in overseas markets. Operational efficiency metrics provide insights into the banks' ability to streamline operations and optimize resources, contributing to overall performance. Additionally, we consider strategic factors such as market presence, customer satisfaction, and innovation to assess the banks' competitive advantage in international markets.
The study utilizes a comparative approach, analyzing both public and private sector banks to identify any divergences in their performance overseas. By comparing the two sectors, we aim to uncover potential differences in strategies, risk management practices, and overall performance, shedding light on the competitive dynamics between public and private banks in foreign markets.
The findings of this study will contribute to a deeper understanding of the performance of Indian banks operating overseas and provide valuable insights for policymakers, bank management, and investors. Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of these banks in international markets can help drive strategic decisions, improve performance, and foster the growth of the Indian banking sector as a whole.
