He began practicing Ashtanga yoga in 1971 after meeting the Himalayan yogi Baba Hari Dass, who became his teacher. He later studied Ayurveda, Vastu, and Vedic astrology with other masters in the U.S. and in India. He lives in Watsonville, California.
