"""Africa My Africa""it's a spiritual and gratifying journey to enlighten black consciousness (culture, identity and reclaiming our aboriginal) in a lionizing attitude through poetry. The author wrote most of her poems in three types of poetry such as Haiku, Couplet and Free Verse. She creatively used diverse figures of speech like personification, simile and metaphor beautifully, expressively in all her poems. There are three interesting poems that address global issues: Where is my Africa?, Africa My Africa and The World is your shadow. These poems are part of breakfast and lunch dialogues world-wide. Looking on the table of contents, the first poem is: ""Where is my Africa?"" She wanted to know about the land issue in Africa since 500 years to date. For an example the situation in Southern Africa matters most to #Black Africans who suffered in the hands of #White Supremacy. The forth poem is: ""Africa My Africa!"" It has been remarkably written. The author is telling us the reality of the events during colonization in Africa from 1450 - 1950 in a nutshell through poetry. She indicates her connectedness to Africa on the title of the poem and she has quoted the former President of Ghana Honourable Kwame Nkrumah when he said: ""I am not African because I was born in Africa but because Africa was born in me."" The author stipulate that Africa was a strong light to the European (quote from the poem: ""You are a beacon of hope to those with eyes"") whereas they perceive Africa as a devilish continent because they are short-sighted (quote from the poem: ""You are diabolic to the myopic"") and they don't realize that Africa have built the world but is still suffering from the new scramble for Africa by the Eastern Imperial trading partnership. The thirteenth poem is ""The World is your shadow"", it opens our minds about the post colonization events. How divide and rule system and the uprooting of Christianity in Africannations erased our ancient believes (identity and culture)."
