She received her PhD in electrical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2003. From 2003 to 2006, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Beckman Laser Institute at the University of California, Irvine. She began as an assistant professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of British Columbia in 2007, where she has been an associate professor since 2013. Prof. Tang’s research interests are in the broad areas of biomedical optical imaging systems and devices, including multiphoton microscopy, optical coherence tomography, photoacoustic imaging, and micro-endoscopy systems for biomedical applications. She is the author or coauthor of over 90 journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters. Daryoosh Saeedkia received his PhD in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2005. In 2010, he founded TeTechS Inc, a leading innovator and provider of advanced terahertz measurement solutions for scientific and industrial applications worldwide. He has more than 12 years of industrial and academic experience in terahertz photonics technology, has delivered 12 invited talks, and has published more than 55 scientific articles, a book, and a book chapter in the area of terahertz technology. Dr. Saeedkia is the recipient of the 2008 Douglas R. Colton Medal for Research Excellence in Canada and the 2006 NSERC Innovation Challenge Award.
