Jacqueline Rhoads, PhD, APRN-BC, PMHNP-BE, FAANP' is Professor at Tulane University School of Tropical Medicine. She has earned her PhD from the University of Texas in Austin Texas; post-Master’s degrees in Acute Care NP, Community Health Primary Care Adult NP, Gerontology NP, and Psych Mental Health NP.' She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and was awarded numerous commendations and medals for meritorious 30 year service in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps; academic and teaching awards; outstanding' research and practice award; six teaching excellence awards; authored three books for major nursing publishers as well as numerous articles. Sandra Petersen is Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program at the College of Nursing & Health Sciences, School of Nursing at the University of Texas at Tyler, Texas and maintains a private practice, seeing patients in the Dallas and Houston areas.' She was formerly the Program Track Administrator for the Masters in Nursing Leadership Program at UTMB Galveston. She earned her Bachelor's degree in business and biology from East Texas Baptist University and also received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. She has a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas, a post-masters Geriatric Nurse Practitioner certificate from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, a post-master’s Family Nurse Practitioner certificate from Northern Kentucky University, a post-masters Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner certificate from Northern Kentucky University, and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Rush University School of Nursing in Chicago, IL. She has authored numerous articles relating to assisted living, memory care, hospice, home care, and nursing leadership that have appeared in key related trade journals and throughout various educational documents '
