Losses are inevitable, whether they are: loss of loved ones, loss of health, loss of peace of mind, loss of possessions... each loss creates an absence.

With this book, Absence, the author offers hope from the Word of God that enables the reader to experience God's presence that fills these vacuums in the soul. She shares devotional stories that reveal His entry into these empty spaces, drawing near to us as we draw near to Him.

Reviews for Absence

"The beauty of the book is that it will meet you in your grief and walk you back to joy! You will no longer be alone because you will encounter a seasoned friend who has not only walked the lonely, painful path of loss but is delighted to lead you along the path she traveled in finding the Sacred Companion, who led her out of hopeless darkness into the joy-filled hope of the Father's love. The other beauty is that the scriptures buried in the stories will come alive to your heart and you will never read them the same again. Jim Brackett, Founder/President of Living Loved Ministries Inc. While absences are real and recurring, no two are the same. Yet, the One who is the same yesterday, today, and forever, is always willing and able to show Himself faithfully present. This is the hope-filled encouragement found in Carolyn's honest and insightful reflections of His care in her own experiences of loss. Becky Misar, co-author, Journey to the Father What a beautiful journey through the process of grief and loss. Each devotional tells a story, giving the reader glimpses of the heartache of suffering but also lovingly reminding us to trust in the God who understands our grief and sorrows because He has experienced them Himself. This book will encourage and bring peace to those who are searching for answers. Reverend Karen Morgan, New Covenant Church, Clyde, NC As a pastor and counselor for over 30 years, I have personally and professionally walked through grief and loss with a lot of people. Grief is a universal journey we will all take to heal from the deep pain of devastating loss. Sometimes a book is discovered that can put into words what we feel in those lonely and difficult days. This is that book. It will walk with you like a close friend and support you when you need it the most. You will be glad you found this book! Jim Snider, M. Div., Mind Matters, Wilmington, NC Thank you, Dr. Lee, for writing this devotional. My heart was gripped by the realness and timeliness of this message. Your vulnerability and transparency will be a source of great strength for those who likewise have suffered deep loss; and, like you, have experienced first hand the suddenness and finality of absence. Isaiah 63:9 says: ""In all their affliction He was afflicted."" His presence, love and mercy bring redemption and salvation. He will bear us up and carry us throughout the entirety of our life on earth. This devotional is a testimony of what that verse describes. He promises to remain with us and bring about a redemption only He can accomplish. Dr. David White, Pastor, The Gathering Church, Moravians Falls, NC"
