An orphan from birth with serious medical complications, Kenneth went into foster care at three months old. Eventually adopted by his foster family, he grew up in a small northern Canadian city. Being raised by loving Christian parents and mentored by his carpenter grandfather, he dreamed of becoming a carpenter himself one day. But the Lord had different plans for young Kenneth. Plans that would take him on an incredible life journey to the pinnacle of the North American construction industry. Kenneth has always held firmly to his faith throughout the journey, trials, and tribulations. He's served in church administration, hosted, and led Bible studies throughout his adult life. He lives in Orange County, California, with his wife, Celine.

Reviews for The Orphan Carpenter: Orphaned at Birth. Adopted by God. A Tale of Hope and a Future.

This is a spellbinding personal narrative of Ken McQuarrie's remarkable life. Remarkable for its authentic processing of pain and suffering, and even more remarkable for the surprising redemptive grace of God that has been evident in the formation and transformation of Ken from earliest breath and onwards. It will bring comfort and insight in pastorally rich ways, and perhaps lead us all closer to the God who is both utterly transcendent AND comforting close (immanent) to each of us, guiding our path ... we can be sure He will shepherd his people forever (Psalm 28:9) Professor Ross Hastings, PhD (chemistry, Queen's, Ontario), PhD (theology, St. Andrews, Scotland) Sangwoo Youtong Chee Chair of Theology, Regent College, Vancouver B.C. 5-Star Review McQuarrie was born with a major physical abnormality and was an orphan, not an ideal circumstance for the beginning of anyone's life. What happened after the first three months of his life impacted and shaped him into the man he is today McQuarrie speaks much about God and how He helped him to be the man he is today, but he doesn't speak in an uppity way as he knows more than the reader, but instead, he writes quite the opposite, his writing in general is done in a faith-filled way but the way he reminisces on past events throughout his childhood and life is done so in a positive manner, regardless if he got into trouble during them or not - he writes humbly, showing that he is a sinner and normal person as every reader is, making mistakes and learning from them Reader Views Book Review, January 25, 2023
