After years of teaching Sunday school, coaching Bible bowl teams and reading through the Bible chronologically, the enigmatic Gibeonites of Joshua 9 and 10 ignited the author’s quest to learn more. Building upon her background of having grown up in a large family on a wheat farm in southwest Oklahoma, she added years of research including participating in archaeological digs in Israel at the biblical sites of Ai in 2010 and at Shiloh in 2017. Standing on the mount of Gibeon, and also on the Hill of Evil Counsel in Jerusalem where the second story takes place, enabled her deep point of view of a large Late Bronze Age family in Canaan and of Joshua’s report from the southern campaign in the Promised Land. The Gibeonites’ eyewitness accounts and this interactive study will take you there with her. Peggy resides in Plano, TX.[
