Joe Coles maintains an obsession with aeroplanes utterly inappropriate for an adult. He has been writing about aviation for over twenty years; in this time he has been the editor of a best-selling aviation periodical published around the world, and created Hush-Kit, a widely respected and deeply irreverent blog. He's also done lots of impressive things unrelated to aviation: as a teenager Joe was coached by the poet Ivor Cutler. The Fall's Mark E. Smith was a fan of his music (Joe is also a singer and songwriter). He is also a veteran copywriter and creative concept developer for a leading gin company, a comedy performer and slightly overweight. He is yet to have a dog but wants one very much.
'Hush-Kit is stupendously brilliant - irreverent and witty but also backed up by phenomenal knowledge and a completely fresh take. It's completely addictive and, without doubt, the best aviation magazine in the world. The Hush-Kit Book of Warplanes is a thrilling read quite unlike any other aviation title' James Holland 'Funny, brilliant, and extremely well informed . . . Nothing else is quite like it. The extremely handsome Hush-Kit Book of Warplanes is an absolute must-have for anyone who has ever looked at an aeroplane with a little too much intensity!' Al Murray 'Joe Coles has written the most explosive book about aircraft ever' Jim Moir (Vic Reeves)
