Nick Lomb spent over 30 years at Sydney Observatory. He curated numerous exhibitions and was a frequent commentator on astronomical events in the southern sky. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Southern Queensland and researches the history of Australian astronomy. Nick was a regular contributor to the Observatory's blog and has been the author of the annual Sky Guide since 1991. He has authored and co-authored several books, including Transit of Venus: 1631 to the Present (UNSW Press, 2011), The Story of Sydney Observatory (MAAS Media, 2018) and the upcoming Eclipse Chasers (CSIRO Publishing, 2023).
