Christopher P. Cline is the Senior Trust Advisor for Riverview Trust Company. He has over 30 years of experience working with high-net-worth families, including 17 years as a nationally recognized estate planning attorney. Chris works directly with clients to help them navigate the challenges of estate planning and trust administration. In particular, he assists clients with business succession, trust design, and charitable planning. Chris spent the first 17 years of his career as a nationally recognized estate planning attorney, ultimately as a partner at Holland & Knight. From there he moved to Wells Fargo’s Private Bank, where he spent eight years managing the Fiduciary Services team in Oregon and southwest Washington. In early 2016 he took the position of Chief Executive Officer at Riverview. In 2022, he moved to the Senior Trust Advisor role to focus on writing, speaking, and client service. Chris is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and nationally recognized speaker and author on numerous estate planning topics. He has written seven books on estate planning and has drafted trust and probate legislation for the state of Oregon. Chris is a former president of the Estate Planning Council of Portland and former chair of the Estate Planning and Administration Section of the Oregon State Bar and is currently editor of the Estate Planning and Administration Section Newsletter.
