""This dictionary is the result of study and research on a highly endangered language, worked on over the years by Gunther Michelson, a gifted, dedicated, and persistent researcher interested in all things Iroquoian, and Dr. Karin Michelson, his daughter, a skilled and careful scholar who specializes in theoretical issues of the Iroquoian languages. The resulting dictionary is a unique scholarly addition to resources, not only on the Mohawk language but on Iroquoian linguistic history and culture more generally.""--Hanni Woodbury, author of A Reference Grammar of the Onondaga Language ""This major reference work brings four hundred years of historical findings on Kanien'kéha together with an incredible depth of contemporary native-speaker intuition and linguistic knowledge. This dictionary is an incredibly significant and lasting contribution to Kanien'kéha language preservation and to advanced studies of Iroquoian languages and linguistics.""--Carrie Dyck, Associate Professor (retired), Linguistics, Memorial University of Newfoundland
