Mervis Kamanga holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics and is a lecturer at the Department of African Languages and Linguistics, University of Malawi. Aquilina Mawadza has held lectureship and adjunct faculty positions at the University of the Western Cape, the University of Zimbabwe and Howard University. She holds a PhD degree in Media & Migration Studies and an M.A in Languages and Communication from the University of Florida, where she also taught Shona. She is the author of Beginner’s Shona with 2 Audio CDs, also by Hippocrene Books. She resides in Cape Town, South Africa.
