Gerald B. Folland is Professor of Mathematics at the University of Washington. He is the author of a number of books, including Real Analysis, Fourier Analysis and Its Applications, and Harmonic Analysis in Phase Space (Princeton).
The first edition of Folland's text on PDEs used to be my favorite source for a course on DPEs. The new edition includes many more exercises and offers a new chapter on pseudodifferential operators. ... This text book is a pleasant compromise between the modern abstract theory and the concrete classical examples and applications. -- Monatshefte fur Mathematik
