Small decisions sometimes have large consequences . . .
The rustle of leaves in the early morning. Sunlight filtering through the trees. The sound of water lapping against the rocky shore. Quiet footsteps announcing the approach of Father.
They back into the green hedge formed by newly-named flora. Both cringe as a stone rolls under her foot, causing her to stumble against him.
A whisper floats on the breeze. ""Adam, my son, where are you?"" * * *And so began the long slide of humanity-a slope that would last into eternity for some. But for those who step out of the shadows and answer God's call, the slide ends. Adam and Eve stepped out and knelt before him, allowing him to strip off the coverings they'd slapped together on the fly-and then to re-clothe them with his choice of garment.
Our First Parents learned that one small choice, made outside of their Creator's presence, sometimes has large consequences. But given back to him in humility and obedience, God's mercy is the only clothing we need.
