For the first time, chess will be included as a sport at the Paris Olympic Games 2024. Chess has been proven to build executive function. The sooner you start building this with children, the better the result. Chess provides the ability to think in a new and different way, to problem solve, to adjust to changes, to incorporate new ideas. Chess is like a language -- you learn it at a young age, develop it over time, and it improves your cognitive abilities. The United States is the strongest chess nation in the world. Three of the top ten chess players in the world are Americans.

Christel Minne has been teaching in an elementary school in Bruges for 38 years, including more than 25 years as a kindergarten teacher. After 7 years being a teacher in a traditional school, she decided to switched to the more liberal and methodological way of teaching, by starting at the Freinet school. She thought she could develop her educational skills to much more benefit in a free educational environment rather than being stuck in a traditional one. Improvisation and creativity were the key elements Christel always put first. So, finally, it came as no surprise Christel caught the idea of writing the book(s) that lie(s) in front of you. Her dynamic way of live, and teaching included empowered her to become the inspiring person 'children' need in their younger years. Chess being a handy tool, and that has clearly been proven in her book(s).These are her first books for Thinkers Publishing.
