Pavla Hanackova (19902021) was a Czech author who studied English and Chinese at Palack University, Olomouc, and later worked as a children's book editor for Albatros. In addition to her love of travel, she had a deep passion for food and all things food-related. She hailed from a picturesque Moravian village surrounded by vineyards.
This book does a wonderful job of telling the story of the different types of forests around the world. The reader will be introduced to different flora and fauna in the various forests by the small snippets of information shared amongst the pictures. The layout and style make the large amount of information easier for children to digest and enjoy! Great read! Amanda Raiche, Librarian I have also had the pleasure of reading the Take Me Home: Waters of the World, and I love the author and illustrator's ability to introduce the unique variety of life to children. The illustrations are adorable and colorful, and the writings is fun and interesting. I enjoy the set up of traveling around the world to get the animals back to their habitats. Children will enjoy learning about animals, and it can be a useful tool in schools and libraries. Jordan Gray, Librarian An informative and easy reading experience that teaches the different forests in the world. While the illustrations are beautiful and easy to look at perhaps reading with a grown up could help clarify everything. I loved seeing not only the plants that grow in a certain forest but also the creatures that live there. Sally Xiong, Blogger
