After an initial training in literature, living arts, and sociology, and professional activities in the fields of press, theater and publishing, Mireille Apel-Muller participated in the foundation and European animation of EUROPAN, a competition of ideas followed by realizations of architecture and town planning since 1988. Since its creation in 2000, it has been running the Institute for the City on the Move and develops innovative projects in the field of urban mobility. It has opened branches of the IVM in China, Brazil and Argentina.
