Govenarhas directed more than two dozen films and is the author of thirty books, includingThe Blues Come to Texas: Paul Oliver and Mack McCormick's Unfinished Book,Everyday Music,Untold Glory:African Americans In Pursuit of Freedom, Opportunity and Achievement,Stompin' at the Savoy, and Texas Blues: The Rise of a Contemporary Sound.
