Reviews for The Complete Guide to Godly Play: Revised and Expanded: Volume 2

""I am excited to see the arrival of the newly revised Volume 2 of The Complete Guide to Godly Play. This volume not only contains additional lessons and resources, but the revisions have been made by those with years of experience practicing the art of Godly Play in circles of children around the world. These updated volumes will definitely enrich our practice as biblical storytellers in the oral tradition."" ––Di Pagel, Godly Play Foundation Trainer and Christian Educator, First Presbyterian Church of Oakland, California ""The Complete Guide to Godly Play, Revised and Expanded: Volume 2 with its updated graphics, fonts, and formatting make it easier for the user to digest and use the material. All of the little details in storytelling, such as liturgical significance, historical background, and story prompts are not overlooked. Also, the updated ""How Do You Do Godly Play"" is especially helpful for planning, no matter your church size, location, or style. A new story, ""The Holy Bible,"" answers the important and foundational question: Where do our stories come from? Finally, the language of world inclusion for all Godly Play users, no matter where in our world they call home, is a warm and beautiful addition. Worth the investment, I look forward to all the volumes being available for purchase. As a church that has loved Godly Play for fourteen years and counting, we couldn't be more excited for the improvements."" ––Jessica Bejot, Director of Children's Ministry, St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Sun Valley, Idaho ""This revision of Godly Play® Volume 2 offers clear instructions for Godly Play teachers. The introduction is professional but not exclusionary. I feel confident offering this volume to a newcomer to Godly Play. The revision clearly sets out the theological groundwork for creating sacred space in the classroom, as well as for training teachers. What is made clear is that the end goal is not rote answers but a way of being in the world that is informed and upheld by the Godly Play model of wonder and agency in God's creation."" ––Charlotte Hand Greeson, curator and editor of ""Building Faith"" ""These are some of the most beloved stories of faith in the Godly Play tradition. This new edition helps newcomers and long-time practitioners alike more fully experience God's closeness in the desert, river's edge, or wherever we are found."" ––The Reverend Sharolyn Browning, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Austin, Texas
